"Business is critically important, though we should never lose focus
that the ultimate bottom line is caring for one another. It's giving to one another. It's showing up to help."

A Toast to the Triangle

Tammy Lynn Center's A Toast to the Triangle Join us in supporting the Tammy Lynn Center at the 26th Annual A Toast to the Triangle, benefitting adults and children with developmental disabilities.

I first wrote about Technology of the Heart in the Spring of 2003 after co-Chairing a successful charity fund-raising event benefiting Raleigh’s Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. At the time, I was so moved by the outpouring of support and participation for this North Carolina event, that I was motivated to write an article that I called “Technology of the Heart”. Being an entrepreneur, an advisor, an agent of change, an investor, and an inventor, I have witnessed and I have learned first-hand the importance of sharing my time, my talents, and my treasures through philanthropic activities. I am wired to give-back. Many of us are wired to give, and I call that internal wiring the Technology of the Heart. As an engineer by my education and a business woman by my profession, technology plays an important part in my life. Over the years, I’ve learned to combine business with giving. It is a way of life, and I believe that it complements my life with a giving factor that has lead to some of the most personally enriching work that I’ve ever done. No matter how much new money one might make, if some of those dollars are not shared with others less fortunate and less able, then that wealth is empty of a lasting impact. It is those dollars that are given freely and without expectation that leave a footprint of helping and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

I am backed by a talented team of individuals and resources that are committed to giving and to making a positive difference and impact in the lives of others too.

When I consult with individuals and businesses, there is always a component of our time and our plan that is dedicated to giving back. It is a vital component of complete business care that allows one to go full-circle with their body of work. There is room for giving in every life.

It is baffling at how much “stuff” I have accumulated, and it’s stuff that I don’t use or need. I bet that I’m not alone in this battle with things…please tell me that I’m not .....
